Pine
Currently the market price is very low and we are not harvesting Pine.

Ash
The Ash tree was used by the Native Americans for making baskets. This is a
medium sized to small tree, the ash tree is the first tree to lose it's leaves in the fall.
Normally you find the ash tree growing by swamps. The ash is a good
commodity because of the quickness of its growth and the toughness of its timber. It is the
toughest and most elastic of our timber wood. Ash wood is used today for spears, bows and
arrows. Ash wood is used for more practical purposes than that of any other tree. Ash
matures more rapidly than Oak.

Basswood
Basswood is not an important timber species, accounting for only 1.2% of
roundwood product. Today, less than half of total growth is harvested for timber production.
Basswood is mainly used for pulpwood and sawlogs. Basswood is a rapidly growing tree and often has
2 or more trunks. Basswood is used as fiber for making ropes and is used for weaving baskets.

Beech
Beech can grow up to 70 to 80 feet tall, with smooth silvery-gray bark. Leaves
are dark green in color and sparsely-toothed with small teeth. The winter twigs are very
distinctive, they look long and slender with two rows of overlapping scales on the buds.
The wood from the Beech tree is harvested for items such as flooring, containers,
furniture, handles and wooden ware.

Cherry
Cherry is a medium sized tree and its bark resembles burnt potato chips. The
Black Cherry tree is the tallest of the cherry trees and has drooping clusters of white flowers
that appear in the spring. It flowers later than other native cherry trees. The small fruits that
ripen in the summer provide food for birds. The fruit is edible, but somewhat bitter in taste. Its
ornamental bark is rough and black, but it is shiny on young branches. Cherry timber is used
for cabinetry.

Hickory
Hickory is very strong and shock resistant. No other commercial wood has a
better combination of strength, hardness, toughness, and stiffness. It is used as handles in
hammer, shovels while several sport equipment like baseball bats are also made from it. It has
two-tone color that makes it a perfect choice for rustic furniture.

Maple ( Hard and Soft)
Maple trees have the botanical name of Acer. The color of the wood is cream
white to reddish brown. The trees are some of the largest and most important of the hardwoods. The
two types of maple trees are hard and soft maple, they are difficult to differentiate for most
people.
The wood from hard maple trees is up to 25 percent harder than the soft maple
trees, and are used more often for usable parts of furniture. They are also values for their
strength, wear resistance and beauty, which make them a very popular for flooring in high volume
traffic areas like bowling alleys and basketball courts. Maple is also used in the making of high
quality kitchen cabinetry.

Oak
There are over 300 varieties of Oak trees. Broadly categorized
as White Oak, Red Oak and Black Oak by the logging industry. Oak trees are mainly used in the
production of furniture because of its strength and versatility. Oak is high in tannin and this
makes it resistant to insects and fungal attack. Oak is used in making barrels age wine and
spirits. Oak chips are used in smoking fish and meats.

Tulip Poplar
Tulip Poplar are a large trees that grow over 100 feet and have a
diameter of 3 to 4 feet. The leaves are 4 to 6 inches and will turn yellow in autumn. It grows
quickly and is an important timber and shade tree. The wood is moderate for veneer and
many other uses. Tulip Poplar is used for low end cabinetry and furniture framing and is classified
as simply hardwood.

Walnut
Walnut is an incredibly desirable, high-quality material used for a variety of
carpentry and construction projects, from furniture to wall paneling. Walnut is sought because of
it's hardiness, color and grain. Many homeowners look to sell Walnut Veneer in order to
profit from a tree that has been growing on their property as a source of extra income. Before
pinning your hopes on this option, there are several different grades which are dependent on the
form of the tree itself.
